Famous Fried Chicken

This is a Famous Fried Chicken recipe. It’s crispy!

INGREDIENTS:
Famous Fried Chicken
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
½ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
2 egg yolks, beaten
1 (12 ounce) beer
½ cup water
Vegetable oil for frying
1 (3 to 4 pound) cut-up chicken fryer

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Heat the oil in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees F.
  2. In medium bowl mix together well, the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, paprika, and poultry seasoning. In a second bowl, mix together the 1 ½ cups flour, salt and cayenne pepper. Mix in the eggs, beer and water.
  3. Dip the chicken one piece at a time in the dry mix. Shake off the excess and dip in the wet mix, then in the dry.
  4. Place the chicken in the hot oil a few pieces at a time. Cook for 15 to 18 minutes, or until well browned. Remove and drain on paper towels.
